A spiraling, wooden horn-like sculpture, this piece is made from spalted pecan from Hays County, Texas. Spalting is the process of wood going through its stage of decay. This piece begins a heavy, bulky spiral at the base, but the spirals elongate for the upper two-thirds turning more gently closer to the tip. Leaning slightly to the left here, the piece can be rotated a few degrees in either direction for a different look. Overall, the piece is 23″ from its base to tip and 6″ diameter across the base.
