This mesquite shell was made from wood found in central Texas not far from the Medina River in Medina County. The yellow, radiating pulpwood is in a repeating pattern and occurs every fifth segment. The lip of the shell has been rounded over to give it a fluid look. The rectangular base is also from the same tree trunk. From the bottom of the base, the shell is 5.75″ tall, 6.5″ from the back of the shell to the tip of the rounded lip, and 5.5″ from the near edge of the lip to the opposite side.
