Nautilus Shell from Central Texas Mesquite

This shell is made from mesquite harvested in the hill country of central Texas. The yellowish flags that radiate from the central hole are actually from the naturally occurring pulpwood just underneath the bark. It sits upon a rectangular base of Texas ash with the bark left in its natural state on opposite sides. The shell is 8″ tall as measured from the bottom of the base, 6.5″ from the round back to the tip of the lip, and 5.5″ across the mouth at its widest point.
