This horn-like, spiraling sculpture is made from a cypress trunk that had been submerged in the Medina River, Medina County, Texas for 100 years. Exposed in 2011 during a hellish drought, the tree was segmented and removed. The trunk was approximately 6 feet in diameter, thus a very old tree. The wood is amazingly light in weight upon drying out. This piece has very gentle spirals giving it a look that recalls melted wax. It is 10″ tall and 4.75″ diameter at the base.
